Erica Fenton M.S., CCC-SLP
Executive Director, Founder

Erica is a speech-language pathologist passionate about transforming care for individuals with neurological conditions, particularly Parkinson's disease. She earned her bachelor's degree from Illinois State University (2010) and her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Rush University (2012), followed by a specialized fellowship at Hines VA Medical Center.

With advanced training in SPEAK OUT!, LSVT LOUD, and the McNeill Dysphagia Treatment Program, Erica brings both clinical expertise and innovative thinking to her practice. Over 13 years at Northwestern Medicine, Erica developed a specialty in Parkinson’s care—spending 8 of those years refining clinical techniques to raise the standard of speech and voice treatment in the western suburbs. Her commitment to education led her to spend over five years in academia, teaching graduate-level courses in swallowing and swallowing disorders at Northern Illinois University's Communication Sciences and Disorders department. This dual focus on clinical excellence and education shaped her understanding of both patient needs and systemic gaps in care. In 2023, Erica founded Fenton Speech and Voice PLLC, a private practice dedicated to reducing barriers to exceptional care for voice, upper airway, swallowing, and neurological conditions. Her practice reflects her belief that specialized care should be accessible and tailored to each individual's unique needs.

Recognizing significant gaps in comprehensive Parkinson's care, Erica founded m.o.v.e.—an innovative program that combines evidence-based exercise with community support and patient empowerment. She assembled a dedicated team including Nicole, Sharon, and Megan to bring this vision to life. Through m.o.v.e., Erica continues to drive systemic change in Parkinson's care, ensuring individuals receive the comprehensive, community-centered support they deserve.
